INDUSTRY EXPERIENCE:

Michael serves as Executive Director at Redgrave LLP. In this role he is responsible for a wide range of operations, including business planning, accounting, staff management and strategic planning. With respect to client-facing work, Michael specializes in conducting physical and technical risk assessments which result in mitigation solutions that validate corporate compliance. He is skilled in all facets of enterprise security operations. Michael provides solutions for physical and network intrusion detection, data protection, surveillance, response, and remediation. He has extensive experience translating technology solutions into enterprise policies in information security, HIPAA_HITECH, PII data transfer privacy, disaster recovery, crisis management, and employment screening. He is a published author and has been cited by the media on issues related to biometrics, security, and disaster recovery.

Michael’s recent work experience includes:

  • Serving as a leader in the planning and implementation of strategic goals and objectives for the Firm and its operations
  • Supervising matters related to the availability, integrity, confidentiality, and security of corporate and client information in compliance with policies and procedures as well as governing regulations and law
  • Establishing cost-effective disaster recovery policies and procedures and information security technical compliance solutions
  • Validating electronic entry control and monitoring systems, network security methodologies, personnel validation programs, and crisis response strategies
  • Identifying need and implementing systems upgrades to enhance user experience and functionality
  • Advising clients on the design and implementation of processes and procedures to assess and reduce information assurance risks

Michael’s diverse 30-year career includes service in the military, law enforcement, and legal industry. He joined Redgrave LLP after serving as Administrator for a prominent regional Firm of over 100 lawyers. Prior to moving into Firm administration, Michael was Director of Information Assurance and Enterprise Security for an Am Law 50 law firm in the United States.  In this role, he had global responsibility developing and implementing privacy, compliance, and continuation of service solutions for legal and business clients. Michael previously taught Risk Management as an Adjunct Professorial Lecturer at The George Washington University’s Graduate School of Forensic Science and also served in the U.S. Marine Corps as Platoon Commander, Training Manager, and Law Enforcement Supervisor.

ORGANIZATIONAL INVOLVEMENT & MEMBERSHIPS:

Michael’s professional endorsements have included Certified Information System Security Professional (CISSP) and Certified Protection Professional (CPP). He is a member of the Association of Legal Administrators, the Legal Marketing Association, The Sedona Conference Working Group on Data Security and Privacy Liability (WG11) and ASIS International.

EDUCATION:

Michael received a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in International Business from Georgetown University, Master of Arts in Security Management from Webster University, and a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice Administration, magna cum laude, from Park University.
