Seth C. Simpson
Seth Simpson has significant experience litigating intellectual property and complex commercial matters. His experience includes both litigation and arbitration of patents and trade secrets in the biotechnology, pharmaceutical, specialty chemical and telecommunications industries. Seth utilizes his experience as a chemical engineer in the pharmaceutical and specialty chemical industries in his representation of clients in technology related litigation matters.
Before joining Redgrave LLP, Seth was Intellectual Property Litigation Attorney for a Fortune 40 chemical company, responsible for counseling business executives with respect to protection and enforcement of the company’s intellectual property. In this role, Seth managed numerous litigation matters, set overall case strategy, prepared fact and expert witness for deposition and trial, managed electronic discovery, performed due diligence with respect to potential infringers and recommended courses of action.
Seth formerly was an Associate at Kaye Scholer LLP in New York, focusing his practice on the litigation and arbitration of patent and trade secret matters in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology and telecommunications industries. He also managed international electronic discovery, counseling his clients with respect to obligations under the United Kingdom Data Protection Act (the 1998 implementation of European Directive 95/46/EC). Seth also worked as a chemical engineer for the BASF Corporation, performing the process designs for various chemical facilities located in North America, including pharmaceutical, surfactant, and polystyrene facilities.
Seth holds a J.D. (Rutgers School of Law, Honors, Order of the Coif), a B.S. degree in Chemical Engineering (Michigan Technological University, summa cum laude) and a B.A. degree in physics (Kalamazoo College, cum laude). He is admitted to practice in New York, New Jersey, and in Michigan.
