INDUSTRY EXPERIENCE:

Jocelyn is part of Redgrave LLP’s growing Privacy and Data Security team. Her experience at Redgrave LLP provides her with key insights regarding the intersection of information governance issues, privacy considerations, litigation strategies, and business decisions. Jocelyn has managed numerous cases and projects independently and with teams from beginning to end in various practice areas. Clients have praised her for being a collaborator and fast learner, willing to dig in to the details while taking into account the overall legal impact to the business and its strategy.

Some of Jocelyn’s recent work experience includes:

  • Developing and executing methodologies to dispose of data in accordance with legal hold obligations and business considerations
  • Monitoring ongoing rulemaking for the California Consumer Privacy Act and examining implementation strategies
  • Collaborating with corporate legal and IT departments to evaluate data systems for defensible discovery initiatives such as the preservation, collection, and the production of data
  • Assisting with the preparation of information and data-related project plans, scoping documents, and defensibility memoranda
  • Meeting and conferring with opposing counsel regarding the scope of discovery, limits to eDiscovery search terms, and challenges to the sufficiency of discovery responses including privilege objections
  • Taking and defending depositions of parties, percipient witnesses, and experts

Prior to joining Redgrave LLP, Jocelyn was a litigator for a Bay Area law firm and a Summer Law Clerk for the U.S. Department of Justice in the Environment and Natural Resources Division.  She was also a judicial extern for the Honorable Elizabeth D. Laporte, United States District Court, Northern District of California.

ORGANIZATIONAL INVOLVEMENT & MEMBERSHIPS:

Jocelyn is a member of the San Francisco Bar Association, Asian American Bar Association (AABA), American Bar Association (ABA), and the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP).

EDUCATION:

Jocelyn received her J.D. from the University of California, Davis School of Law, where she was an Articles Editor for the UC Davis Law Review and Co-President of the Asian Pacific America Law Student Association (APALSA.) She holds a B.A. from the University of California, Irvine. Jocelyn is admitted to practice in California and the United States District Court, Northern District of California.
