Redgrave LLP has hired a former Seyfarth Shaw LLP and Katten Muchin Rosenman LLP litigator as a partner in its Chicago office.

The e-discovery and information law-focused firm said in its announcement Tuesday that Kathy P. Josephson, who spent the last three years at Seyfarth as a partner, will help the firm's work in discovery matters and fraud investigations.

Josephson said in a statement Tuesday she was drawn to the firm by its "top-notch information law team."

"The firm's proven track record in the eDiscovery and information governance space sets the bar in leveraging cutting-edge technologies, practical litigation strategies, and targeted data analysis and insights to meet our clients' most complex needs and challenges," she added. "I am excited to contribute my skills to further advance the mission of providing efficient and effective legal solutions in today's rapidly evolving legal, regulatory, and technology landscape."

Josephson was not immediately available for an interview Wednesday.

Josephson — who attended Northwestern University for both her undergraduate and law studies — is experienced in pre-trial proceedings such as discovery, depositions, data collection, and investigations, the firm said. She brings additional experience as a trial attorney in federal jury trials.

Josephson told Law360 in a 2020 interview that she spent 17 years at Katten, honing her practice in health care fraud litigation on matters such as billing for unnecessary services, anti-kickback measures, state licensing laws and other areas. In 2019, she represented State Farm in a fraud lawsuit against Elite Health Centers Inc. over car accident victims' treatment.

Redgrave, for its part, shook up its leadership team in January when it brought back Victoria Redgrave as managing partner and chair of its executive committee after a stint at Juul Labs.

Victoria Redgrave cited Josephson's "ability to harness the power of data analytics in investigations and to leverage a unique and practical approach to fraud litigation" in a statement accompanying the announcement.

"Her dedication to staying ahead of the curve ensures that our clients will receive the highest level of representation and protection in complex legal challenges," Redgrave added. "On top of her impressive fraud investigation and litigation work, Kathy has a practical and efficient approach to discovery strategies, and we look forward to the valuable contributions and benefits her knowledge and experience will bring to all of our client engagements."

Seyfarth Shaw did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
