Jonathan Redgrave appointed to Advisory Board of American College of e-Neutrals (ACESIN); also identified as an Approved eDiscovery Special Master in the Western District of Pennsylvania’s new eDiscovery Initiative.
Washington, DC, April 10, 2011 --- Jonathan M. Redgrave has been appointed as a Charter Member to the Advisory Board of the American College of e-Neutrals (ACESIN). ACESIN is a member organization that promotes the use of e-neutrals through its Directory of e-Neutrals accessible by its Affiliates (the judiciary and litigants) for free. ACESIN also seeks to establish standards for e-neutrals and to provide education to the judiciary, parties, other disciplines and e-neutral candidates regarding conflict resolution in e-discovery. More information about the organization is available at www.acesin.org.
Jonathan was also selected for inclusion on the Western District of Pennsylvania’s new panel of E-Discovery Special Master. This innovative program, which is a first of its kind in the county, was introduced by the Judges in the Western District in an attempt to design a process for the selection and use of eDiscovery Special Masters in cases involving electronic discovery disputes. More information about the program can be found at the Court’s website at www.acesin.org.
Both developments reflect the growing awareness of the efficiencies and expertise that special masters and e-neutrals can bring to the discovery phase of litigation (a phase notorious for being long, expensive and complex). Both of these roles, while different in practice, can help to educate litigants, counsel and the court regarding the technologies involved in a given case as well as provide a level of expertise that might not otherwise be available.
Jonathan is internationally recognized for his work, has authored, co-authored and edited numerous publications in the area of electronic discovery, privacy and data security, and has spoken around the world on these issues. Notably, Jonathan has extensive experience in all areas of complex litigation in state and federal courts, and as one of the founding partners of Redgrave LLP, focuses his practice on Information Law matters. He regularly addresses issues involved in the discovery of electronically stored information, as well as issues concerning records retention, and privacy policies and practices for clients. He has been recognized for exceptional standing in the legal community (Band 1) in Chambers USA: America’s Leading Lawyers for Business for 2010 for eDiscovery. Jonathan helped found, was the first Chair of and is currently Chair Emeritus of the renowned Sedona Conference Working Group on Electronic Document Retention and Production. He is also a co-chair of the acclaimed Georgetown University Law School eDiscovery Institute.
