With over two decades of experience in the legal, regulatory, and technical consulting fields, John advises organizations on a range of information governance, litigation readiness, and records and information management challenges, including those involving the use and implementation of cloud technologies.

John works with clients to develop practical approaches to complex eDiscovery, information governance, and data privacy and protection matters.  A lawyer by training combined with 20+ years of information technology consulting experience, he leverages this background to identify and understand the unique aspects of an organization’s legal, business, and technology landscape to address all variables within targeted and tailored solutions.

Recognizing the potential impact of cloud computing on eDiscovery and information governance, in 2013 John started focusing his consulting work on Office 365 (now Microsoft Office 365) and over the past 12 years has become a widely recognized leader in helping in-house legal, records, and compliance teams adopt and adapt Microsoft 365 (M365) technologies, with a particular focus on M365 Purview’s Risk & Compliance and Data Security Solutions.  John advises clients on M365 strategies to meet legal and compliance requirements, and he has conducted dozens of program assessments and technology implementations and delivered hundreds of workshops on M365 for records management, eDiscovery, and data protection to organizations worldwide.

John is a Certified Records Manager (CRM) and an Information Governance Professional (IGP).  He also holds the Microsoft Certified: Information Protection and Compliance Administrator Associate certification.

Before joining Redgrave LLP, John was Executive Director of the Information Governance practice at Lighthouse, where he helped build and lead a leading Microsoft compliance and security compliance practice.  His previous roles include Senior Director, Information Governance at Lighthouse, Director, Information Governance at Options Clearing Corporation, Director, Information Governance & Office 365 Consulting at Epiq (formerly DTI), and Director, Discovery Services at Modus.  Earlier in his career, John founded The Ingersoll Firm, which at the time was a leading ESI data mapping consultancy.
