Michael is a seasoned financial and business
operations executive with more than thirty years of experience leading complex
organizational functions. His background
spans law firm administration; financial, accounting, and tax‑filing oversight;
information security; enterprise risk management; and operational strategy. He is known for building and guiding high-performing
administrative teams, enhancing operational effectiveness, and developing
business strategies that advance organizational performance and long-term
objectives.
At Redgrave, Michael serves as the Chief
Financial and Business Officer, where he directs the Firm’s financial and
information technology operations and oversees the Finance, Accounting, Risk
Management, Information Technology, Security (physical and cyber), Facilities,
and Conflicts teams. He manages the
Firm’s tax preparation processes and benefit and retirement plan audits, and he
works closely with external tax accountants to ensure accurate and compliant
filings across more than 30 states. He
partners closely with Firm leadership, including the Executive Committee, to
shape and execute strategic planning initiatives, strengthen administrative
infrastructure, support long-range business planning, and drive operational
excellence. Michael also leads efforts
to align business and technology processes with Firm priorities, ensuring that
systems, resources, and workflows effectively support attorney and advisor
productivity.
In his risk leadership role, Michael works in
close coordination with the Office of General Counsel on matters involving
conflicts of interest, contract review and negotiation, regulatory compliance,
and other enterprise risk considerations. His collaborative approach helps ensure that
operational decisions, client engagements, and vendor relationships align with
the Firm’s legal, ethical, and strategic obligations.
Michael specializes in financial strategy,
information technology, and enterprise risk management. His experience includes leading financial
operations, strengthening information security programs, and designing
comprehensive risk frameworks that promote organizational resilience. Throughout his career, he has overseen the
adoption and implementation of numerous technologies aimed at improving
operational efficiency, enhancing data integrity, and optimizing firmwide
processes. He brings a strategic, solutions‑driven
mindset to modernizing law firm operations and ensuring they remain secure,
efficient, and positioned for sustained success.
Prior to joining Redgrave, Michael served
as an Administrator for a prominent regional law firm with over 100
lawyers. Michael was also the Director of Information Assurance and
Enterprise Security for an Am Law 50 law firm, overseeing global privacy,
compliance, and service continuity solutions for legal and business
clients. He previously taught Risk Management as an Adjunct Professorial
Lecturer at George Washington University’s Graduate School of Forensic Science
and is a published author whose work has been cited in media coverage related
to biometrics, security, and disaster recovery. Michael’s professional
endorsements have included Certified Information System Security Professional
(CISSP) and Certified Protection Professional (CPP).
Before entering the legal industry,
Michael served as Platoon Commander in the U.S. Marine Corps. He is a decorated combat veteran.
