INDUSTRY EXPERIENCE:

David brings a practical combination of over 25 years of legal and technical experience to his role as Director at the Firm.  With significant eDiscovery project management experience and a substantial litigation and trial practice background, David focuses on identifying, developing, and supporting effective discovery solutions for complex litigation matters.  He works hand in hand with clients to identify key issues and synthesize diverse data to create comprehensive eDiscovery strategies.  David is skilled at anticipating and recognizing workflow needs or potential issues within data collection, processing, review, and production in discovery matters to provide timely and effective solutions.  He also draws on his extensive knowledge of eDiscovery technologies to assist client teams in leveraging available tools to improve outcomes of engagements, including providing software recommendations and technical support. 

Some of David’s recent work experience includes:

  • Managing discovery processes for complex litigation matters, from data collection through production
  • Developing electronically stored information (“ESI”) governance programs
  • Administering case databases and providing case specific technical support for a wide variety of eDiscovery and litigation software, including Relativity, Intella, and Everlaw
  • Organizing attorney review teams and analyzing and reporting progress    
  • Training clients on the efficient use of review software and technology
  • Designing and executing eDiscovery workflows, including adapting processes midstream to ensure successful project completion

Prior to joining Redgrave LLP, David was a senior consultant at Protiviti, Inc., a global business and technology consulting firm.  He also held senior consulting roles at various discovery solutions companies and worked as a litigation attorney for over a decade, representing clients in state and federal court.  He served as a law clerk to the Honorable Jonathan Lebedoff of the United States District Court for the District of Minnesota.

CERTIFICATIONS, ORGANIZATIONAL INVOLVEMENT & MEMBERSHIPS:

David’s certifications include Certified eDiscovery Specialist (CEDS), Relativity Certified User (RCU), and Kroll Ontrack Advanced E-Discovery Certification.  He is a member of the Association of Certified E-Discovery Specialists (ACEDS) and Electronic Discovery Reference Model (EDRM).  

EDUCATION:

David received his J.D. from Drake University Law School, cum laude and Order of the Coif, and his B.A. from Brown University.  During law school, he was the Research and Production Editor of the Drake Law Review.
