Diana H. Psarras
INDUSTRY EXPERIENCE:
Diana has over twenty years of experience representing clients in complex commercial litigation in state court, federal court, and before administrative agencies, in mediation and arbitration. Her passion and commitment to handling the legal matters of her clients are demonstrated through her practical yet tireless approach to investing resources to achieve successful results. Diana has counseled clients on a broad range of matters, ranging from fiduciary duty claims and commercial contracts to commercial disputes and bankruptcy adversary proceedings. She has handled all stages of litigation, including investigations, pleadings, discovery, pre-trial matters, trial, and, if appropriate, settlements and appeals of trial decisions. As a knowledgeable negotiator and a trusted advisor, Diana leverages these skills to produce efficient and effective solutions that ease the stress of litigation and investigations, enabling business continuity in challenging environments.
At Redgrave LLP, Diana utilizes her extensive experience managing complex discovery issues and large volume document intensive cases to counsel clients in all aspects of pre-trial litigation and discovery. She works with clients to plan and execute discovery strategies for high-stakes matters and leverages her knowledge of eDiscovery platforms and tools to guide the approaches to the collection and preservation of electronically stored information. She also applies her experience and pragmatic approach to assist clients with information governance matters.
Some of Diana’s recent work experience includes:
- Handling of jury and bench trials from initiation of the matter through appeal
- Drafting and arguing dispositive motions for relief
- Advising clients on risk management and litigation strategies to comply with legal regulations and contractual requirements
- Representing businesses, officers, directors, trustees, beneficiaries, secured and unsecured creditors, landlords, and trustees in connection with bankruptcy-related matters
As a trial lawyer, Diana has represented clients in litigation spanning a broad range of fields and industries, which include the following representative matters:
- Prosecuting claims of fraud and forgery on behalf of businesses and individuals
- Defending closely held companies from claims of shareholder oppressions and breaches of fiduciary duty
- Defending a trustee from claims of mismanagement of trust assets
- Defending brokerage firms in their handling of discretionary trading accounts
- Defending claims of breach of contract relating to the sale of a national chain
- Prosecuting and protecting the rights of beneficiaries to receive accountings of trusts and ensuring the loyalty of the trustees
Prior to joining Redgrave LLP, Diana worked at Robbins DiMonte, Ltd. for 20 years, the last 12 years as a partner at the firm. During her tenure, she served on the firm’s Board of Directors (2014-2022) and as Chairwoman of the Board (2018-2022). Diana has been recognized as a 2016, 2017, and 2018 Illinois Emerging Lawyer in the area of commercial litigation.
ORGANIZATION INVOLVEMENT & MEMBERSHIPS:
Diana is a member of the Chicago Bar Association, the Hellenic Bar Association, and ProVisors, a national networking organization of Trusted Advisors.
EDUCATION:
Diana received her J.D., cum laude, from DePaul University College of Law and her B.A., with Honors, from DePaul University. She is admitted to practice in Illinois.
