James W. Hertsch III

Industry Experience:

James has extensive experience in discovery matters related to complex civil litigation.  He has helped clients address discovery issues in a wide range of matters; including antitrust, contractual disputes, health care, and securities litigation.  In addition to managing large teams of attorneys analyzing documents for responsiveness and privilege, James has demonstrated leadership and skills in crafting strategies for quality control in large-scale litigation, including integrated processes for sampling and statistical analysis as well as working with clients to identify and implement successful strategies for the targeted use of technology assisted review and predictive coding solutions.  Notably, James also has extensive experience addressing the identification and logging of privileged documents in litigation.

Aside from his extensive discovery experience, James also brings perspective to clients from his work in the media sector for nearly ten years as a reporter, copy editor, and news analyst.  He also has represented clients in landlord-tenant matters and in cases before the U.S. Asylum Office.

Before joining Redgrave, James worked at an Am Law 100 firm in Washington, D.C.
