INDUSTRY EXPERIENCE:

Lionel leverages a deep knowledge of eDiscovery concepts and techniques to craft policies and processes that streamline workflows, minimize risks, and ensure quality across the discovery lifecycle.  With an emphasis on operational efficiency and standardization, he works with client teams to define project scope and deliverables as well as establish repeatable workflows that facilitate effective project execution.  Lionel’s advanced knowledge of eDiscovery technologies, including Brainspace and Relativity, enables him to recommend strategies and solutions to improve outcomes of engagements, including software recommendations and technical support.  He has significant experience managing projects for large clients.

Some of Lionel’s recent work experience includes:

  • Assisting clients with identifying, documenting, and preventing deletion of data relevant to litigation, regulatory matters, and core business functions
  • Leveraging complex eDiscovery techniques such as Continuous Active Learning (CAL), email threading, near duplicate detection, repeated content filters, clusters, and dashboards to enable efficient review for client and internal document review teams
  • Leading process improvement initiatives, including coaching team members on eDiscovery workflows, best practices, and software utilization
  • Conducting various eDiscovery tasks, including developing OCR profiles and sets, creating classifications, conceptual analytics, structured analytics, and search indexes, editing permissions, and executing complex saved searches
  • Designing targeted data collection strategies that account for the unique complexities of client data ecosystems and the nature of engagements

Prior to joining Redgrave LLP, Lionel was the Director of Data and Technology at Ankura. His work experience also includes eDiscovery project management roles at Lighthouse, UnitedLex, and Page One Legal LLC and attorney positions with Legality and Troutman Pepper Emerge, where he was awarded the 2018 Project of the Year Award for his exceptional client service and strategic leadership in one of the department’s most critical matters.  Lionel also served as the Assistant Attorney General for the State of Tennessee’s Civil Rights and Claims Division.

Lionel’s certifications include Brainspace Certified Administrator, Brainspace Certified Analyst, Brainspace Certified Specialist, Relativity Certified Administrator (RCA), Relativity Analytics Specialist, and Relativity Certified User (RCU).

EDUCATION:

Lionel received his J.D. from Washington University School of Law and his B.S., magna cum laude, from Auburn University.
