INDUSTRY EXPERIENCE:

Rana brings to the Firm an extensive litigation background that includes over a decade of experience focused on trial, appellate, and alternative dispute resolution matters.  Her work has concentrated on issues concerning contracts, fraud, product liability, professional liability, and insurance-related claims, and has involved complex motion practice, mediation, and settlement negotiations. 

Rana has significant eDiscovery experience and advises clients on discovery and pre-litigation information governance issues, along with handling pre-trial discovery and related disputes.  She also trains attorneys on eDiscovery processes and protocols.  Rana is skilled at building dynamic relationships with her clients to deliver tailored, innovative solutions that provide long-term solutions and maximize returns.

Some of Rana’s recent work experience includes:

  • Developing strategies for the collection, review, and production of documents
  • Conducting custodian interviews and identifying potential sources of relevant data
  • Developing and negotiating ESI search terms
  • Researching and conducting motion practice regarding various discovery issues
  • Handling meet and confers with opposing counsel on discovery matters
  • Coordinating the implementation of legal holds
  • Managing large legal teams and overseeing eDiscovery vendors

Prior to joining Redgrave LLP, Rana was a partner at Kirkland & Ellis LLP and a member of its eDiscovery Committee.

EDUCATION:

Rana received her J.D. from Cornell Law School and her B.S., with Honors, summa cum laude, from Loyola University.  During law school, Rana participated in the Cornell Law School and Université Paris I (Pantheon-Sorbonne) program, which included one year of study in Paris at the Sorbonne Law School.  She is fluent in conversational Arabic.
