INDUSTRY EXPERIENCE: 

Scott is a seasoned information governance professional with extensive experience leading successful records management initiatives in highly regulated, geographically dispersed environments.  He leverages his strong communication skills to build and sustain relationships with project stakeholders to ensure governance strategies align with organizational needs and goals.  As a Director at the Firm, Scott advises on the technical aspects of engagements and supports client teams in designing and implementing data management solutions to address clients’ information law needs.  He has an in-depth knowledge of enterprise software applications, and he works with clients to realize and enhance the data governance features of existing systems, in addition to providing recommendations related to the procurement and implementation of independent data management tools. 

Some of Scott’s recent work experience includes:

  • Managing a multiyear project to execute auto-expiry in email, Microsoft Teams, and OneDrive
  • Leading an initiative to implement legal holds and disposition in Microsoft 365
  • Establishing data management processes for mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures
  • Developing software solutions that enable customized email retention periods
  • Selecting and implementing a specialized Electronic Document Management System (EDMS) to manage sensitive organizational data
  • Facilitating compliance with data privacy laws, including PIPA, GDPR, and CCPA
  • Updating records retention policies and schedules and standard operating procedures
  • Performing gap analyses and needs assessments and recommending strategies for risk mitigation  
  • Conducting training on new data governance systems, policies, and procedures

Prior to joining Redgrave LLP, Scott was the Director of Records and Information Management and Co-Chair of the Information Governance Office at Sunovion Pharmaceuticals.  His work experience also includes consulting roles for a variety of other pharmaceutical and financial services firms and in-house roles with multiple large corporations.

Scott’s certifications include Certified Information Governance Officer (CIGO), Certified Records Manager (CRM), and Information Governance Professional (IGP).
