David Shonka Speaks at the Second Annual International Data Law Forum

On July 17, 2025, David Shonka will moderate the panel “The Insider Threat: Handling Cross-Border Investigations and Emerging Whistleblower Laws” at the second Annual International Data Law Forum (IDLF) in Berlin, Germany.

David’s panel will discuss that, with incidents arising from insider threats on the rise, organizations are being required to direct significant resources to address protection, detection, and mitigation.  At the same time, headlining cases have prompted regulatory reform around the world to afford greater protection to legitimate Whistleblowers.  The panel will assess the data considerations and legal risks for organizations and practitioners conducting international investigations implicating whistleblowing activity.
