Redgrave LLP Welcomes Rishi P. Chhatwal as a Partner in Washington, D.C.

Washington, D.C. (May 4, 2026) — Redgrave LLP, the premier law firm focusing exclusively on eDiscovery and Information Law, is pleased to announce that Rishi P. Chhatwal has joined the Firm as a Partner in its Washington, D.C. office.

Rishi has held senior legal roles at a major telecommunications company, a major cryptocurrency exchange, and a global professional services firm, giving him a rare firsthand understanding of the eDiscovery, information governance, and regulatory challenges that organizations face today.  He advises clients on regulatory and privacy risk, mergers and acquisitions, information management, and complex investigations, and has significant experience drafting and executing policies and procedures for global data governance and government response.

“I’m thrilled to have Rishi at the Firm,” said Co-Managing Partner Robert Keeling.  “We’ve collaborated for years, including co-authoring published research on machine learning and predictive coding in legal contexts, and his ability to tackle complex problems at the intersection of law and technology is exactly what our clients need.”

“Rishi has extensive experience on the front lines of the issues that matter most to our clients, from building global eDiscovery programs to counseling some of the world’s largest companies on legal challenges posed by emerging technologies,” said Co-Managing Partner Erica Zolner.  “We are confident he will make an immediate impact.”

Rishi writes and speaks regularly on the responsible use of artificial intelligence and machine learning in legal contexts, including algorithmic bias and the governance challenges that emerge as organizations adopt AI-driven tools.  He serves as an adjunct professor of law at the George Mason University Antonin Scalia Law School, where he teaches a course on modern discovery, and is a published author whose articles on these topics have appeared in law reviews and technology journals.

“No other firm is doing what Redgrave is doing,” said Rishi P. Chhatwal.  “The intersection of law and technology is evolving faster than ever, from AI governance to emerging data types to new regulatory frameworks, and Redgrave is leading the way in helping clients navigate that landscape.  After more than 15 years of building programs and advising clients from every vantage point, this is exactly where I want to be.”

Prior to joining Redgrave, Rishi served as a Managing Director with Alvarez & Marsal Disputes and Investigations, where he created and led a corporate eDiscovery services team serving more than a dozen Fortune 500 clients.  Before that, he served as Director and Associate General Counsel of eDiscovery and Information Governance at Coinbase, Inc., where he led the eDiscovery team and supported multiple state, federal, and international government investigations.  Previously, Rishi served as Assistant Vice President and Senior Legal Counsel for Enterprise Discovery and Legal Operations at AT&T Services, Inc., where he was part of the legal team that successfully defended the first vertical merger challenge taken to trial in more than 40 years.  He began his career as an Associate at Sidley Austin LLP.

Rishi serves as an Advisory Board Member for the Georgetown Law Advanced eDiscovery Institute and as a Global Advisory Council Member for the Electronic Discovery Reference Model (EDRM).

Rishi earned his J.D. (cum laude) from the University of Georgia School of Law and his B.A. in Journalism and International Studies from Emory University.  He is admitted to practice in the District of Columbia and New York.
