With a background spanning regulatory law, antitrust, and technology, Rishi brings a distinctive combination of in-house, consulting, and law firm experience in eDiscovery, information governance, and legal operations.  He draws on more than 15 years of legal experience building and leading global eDiscovery and information governance functions to support clients as they navigate high-stakes litigation, regulatory investigations, and complex discovery challenges.

Rishi advises clients on the full spectrum of legal, regulatory, and operational matters, with particular focus on regulatory and privacy risk, mergers and acquisitions, information management, and complex investigations.  He has counseled Fortune 10 companies on matters involving AI governance, mobile devices, data privacy, technology infrastructure, and litigation and trial discovery, and he brings significant experience drafting and executing policies and procedures for global data governance and government response.

Rishi works closely with Redgrave’s Review & Analytics practice, leveraging his background in strategic planning and in deploying technology-driven review and information governance solutions.  His experience building eDiscovery programs from the ground up, including overseeing legal operations, data remediation, and domestic and global data privacy compliance, enables him to help clients design and implement defensible, cost-effective discovery strategies.

Rishi is actively involved in the eDiscovery and Information Law community and frequently writes and speaks on defensible data practices, including the continuing challenges posed by new data types, encryption, and responsible data remediation.  He has also written and spoken extensively on the responsible use of artificial intelligence and machine learning in legal contexts, including algorithmic bias and the governance challenges that emerge as organizations adopt AI-driven tools.  He is a published author whose articles on these topics have appeared in law reviews and technology journals, including an article selected for the annual IEEE conference on big data.  Rishi also serves as an adjunct professor of law at the George Mason University Antonin Scalia Law School, where he teaches a course on modern discovery.

Rishi also has significant pro bono experience.  He served as a D.C. Bar Fellow with the Capital Area Immigrants’ Rights Coalition, received the Vincent E. Prada Pro Bono Award, and was repeatedly named to the D.C. Bar Pro Bono High Honor Roll.

Prior to joining the Firm, Rishi served as a Managing Director with Alvarez & Marsal Disputes and Investigations, where he focused on corporate forensic technology, eDiscovery, and legal operations.  Before that, he served as Director and Associate General Counsel of eDiscovery and Information Governance at Coinbase, Inc., where he led the eDiscovery team and strengthened policies and procedures in an evolving regulatory environment.  Previously, Rishi served as Assistant Vice President and Senior Legal Counsel for Enterprise Discovery and Legal Operations at AT&T Services, Inc.  He began his career as an Associate at Sidley Austin LLP in the telecommunications regulatory and intellectual property litigation practices.
