On November 17, 2021, David C. Shonka will participate in the PLI Program, “The FTC Prepares to Make Its Mark on Tech Law.”  In a recent statement, the FTC made clear that Section 5 of the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) Act, which prohibits unfair or deceptive acts or practices in or affecting commerce, also covers AI, algorithms, and automated decision making.  This program will discuss the FTC’s demonstrated interest in regulating the data privacy and security space in a way that could impact a wide range of companies.
