The scavenger hunt to solve this puzzle and ‘find the data’ will present significant and possibly risky implications, not only in litigation but in information governance and ESG issues across the board. While it may seem like a serious investment, prioritizing data management will lead to exponential future savings. Companies and groups choosing to manage and catalog where information resides proactively will come out on top and avoid bad outcomes and potential sanctions, making active data management a ‘must do’ in 2023.”
